Welcome to Brambles Nubians. Goats first came to the farm in 2001 and have been a fixture ever since! The emphasis here is upon milk production, balanced with correctness and a good temperament - my purebred, registered herd of Nubians has been selected along those lines - although through breed improvement the goal is exactly the same for my herd of grade does. In 2011, the first Oberhasli arrived on the farm, the breed goal for what will be a small, but productive herd of Oberhaslis is just the same!
The does are fed the highest quality forage available throughout the year, as well as a 16% mineralized dairy grain ration, with added sunflower seeds and corn and alfalfa pellets when necessary. They also have access to minerals and salt. Each year prior to and after kidding they are given vitamins A,D and sel-E. The kids are raised on a CAE preventative program, on heat treated colostrum and pasteurized milk.
In future years classification and milk testing are planned, in the mean time barn records are used to assess how well each doe is performing. For interest I also try to show the does each year as well.
To reserve a kid a $50 deposit is required. Kids can be shipped from Regina Airport, using WestJet Cargo. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the new owner.
If you have any questions about my herd, please ask!
